Wedding PHOTOGRAPHER, Dreamer, Star-Chaser
People describe me as happy-go-lucky, friendly, and easy to be around. I don’t hold back my excitement or emotion while I work. I’m a dreamer, romantic, and sentimentalist. I’ve cried during the father-daughter dances, speeches, and reading of vows and I jump up and down with glee when we get “the shot”.
You’re madly in love with your soulmate, looking for someone to capture your journey together visually as beautifully as you feel it in your soul. My promise to you is to always come from a place of service, and provide a luxury experience, putting you at ease during the planning process knowing your photos are in good hands. From inquiry to album delivery, I’m always here to help.
MASTER OF LIGHT
Painters have oils and acrylics. Photographers have light and shadow. Since the beginning of my business I’ve dedicated myself to learning as much about light as I can to create beautiful images. I now teach lighting classes to help other photographers grow in their skill set.
Because of this knowledge, I’ve struggled to define my style to clients. Choosing a lighting style is like telling me to choose between a Rembrandt and a Monet. I can’t.
Therefore, I look at a scene, and create images to showcase the environment, capturing the feel of the wedding. If a chapel is bright, I’m not going to photograph it to look like a storm is coming. If your suite had dramatic window light with contrast between light and shadow, I will play with that light to capture the aesthetic of the day.
The best news? I can do both, and create light when needed. I’m a master of light, and can’t wait to use my skill set to provide you with beautiful wedding photographs.
My craziest wedding story...
Tornado, anyone? My craziest wedding story took place at my very first official wedding. After the ceremony, the rain poured so hard it looked like a waterfall over the window glass. After the storm stopped, we opened the door to find broken tree limbs, uprooted trees on guests’ cars, and down power lines. A tornado had ripped through the area.
Once the wedding was over, I remember getting into my car and feeling exhilarated. Exhausted, I said out loud, “This. This is what I want to do.” Either that makes me crazy or I’m made for this job. Maybe it’s a bit of both? Either way, I feel lucky to be able to photograph weddings of amazing people and be a part of their day.
Know that you have a photographer that worked through a tornado and decided this was the career for her. I am in your corner, and can’t wait to make your wedding day amazing!
“Kristen was an absolutely fabulous addition to our Day! She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, and her enthusiasm felt like she was just as excited to be there as we were! 10/10 would recommend!

BEHIND THE PHOTOS
I am inspired by art and masterpieces. In fact, I start each wedding day by asking, “How would I paint this?” This helps me decide my composition and lighting with details and portraits.
Some of my favorite artists are Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Parmigianino, Edouard Bisson, Henri Fantin-Latour, and Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
My goal for everyone I photograph is to give them an artistic representation they can display in their homes.
